2024 Lavallette Recreation Badges

The 2024 Lavallette Recreation Badges are sold at the recreation shed.

Recreation badges are $65 for the season and $5 per day use.
Seniors 65 and older $20.
Service Members can acquire a badge with a Military ID at no charge.
All sales for recreation are cash or check only.

The badges are required for use of the tennis and pickle ball courts, they are not needed for any other activities in the recreation area.



2024 3rd and 4th quarter / 2025 1st and 2nd Quarter Tax Bills.

New tax bills for the 2024 3rd and 4th quarter / 2024 1st and 2nd Quarter are being printed and will be mailed by the end of the week. The grace period on the 3rd quarter bills will be August 13, 2024. This will also be the day Auto Pay will be taken. The figures for anyone interested in looking at their account can be found with our Account Inquiry.

Water Service Line Material Survey

In July 2021, P.L.2021, Ch.183 (Law) was enacted, requiring all community water systems to replace lead and galvanized service lines in their service area within 10 years. Under the law, the Borough of Lavallette is required to inventory public and private water services to identify all service line materials.

In an effort to report all private water service line materials to the State of New Jersey, the Borough of Lavallette is requesting you, the Homeowner, to inspect your current water service and determine the material that has been installed for your property.

Stop for pedestrians in the crosswalks!

It's The Law!

The driver of a vehicle must stop and stay stopped for a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk, but shall yield the right-of-way to a pedestrian crossing the roadway within an unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except at crosswalks when the movement of traffic is being regulated by police officers or traffic control signals.

Bicycle Safety

Ride your bicycle with the flow of Traffic, Not against it!  Obey all of the same traffic laws as a motor vehicle!

When ridden on any roadway a bicycle rider has all of the rights and responsibilities of any vehicle. Unless bicycles are specifically excepted, all traffic laws and rules apply to bicycles. Bicyclists who violate traffic laws are subject to a citation.

Bicycles are only allowed on the boardwalk between 5am and 8am and 5pm and 8pm.

Don't Feed The Seagulls!

White plastic bags are prohibited by ordinance to be left at the curb for pickup. The gulls attack these bags easily and create an unsanitary mess. Please use appropriate containers with lids or dark colored, heavy gauge, plastic bags for your trash.

For your convenience, the Lavallette Recycling Center located at the Public Works Complex accepts regular household waste from 7am, to 2:45pm every day. Please consider using this service to keep our streets and town clean.


No Wake Zones

No Wake Zone
"No wake" is defined as "The slowest possible speed required in order to maintain steerage and headway."

In New Jersey, it is unlawful to operate any vessel or personal watercraft (PWC) at greater than "no wake" speed when within 200 feet or less of docks, marinas, piers, or wharfs.

Vessel operators are responsible for any property damage caused by their vessels wake.

Remember to obey No Wake Zones in and out of the Borough lagoons and surrounding bay front areas.

Paper Recycle
Residents are limited to six boxes or bags each day. Commercial documents will not be accepted. Paper clips and staples do not have to be removed from the documents.

9am to 1pm or until the truck is full, the truck has an 8,000-pound capacity.

Materials accepted at the household hazardous waste collection sites are: paints, thinners, boat paints, solvents, pool chemicals, pesticides and herbicides, aerosol cans, auto products, toilet and drain cleaners, silver polishes, oven cleaners, photographic chemicals, rug and upholstery cleaners, polishes and bleaches, waste oil and used gasoline.

In the event of an evacuation follow arrows on signs posted around town.
Atlantic hurricane season runs from June 1 to November 30. The height of the season typically occurs in late August and during the month of September although tropical systems can develop at any point.
