Prescription Drug Drop Off Sites

“Project Medicine Drop” is to encourage the public to discard outdated or unused prescription medications at three collection boxes located at municipal police departments.

One of the locations is the lobby of the Seaside Heights Police headquarters.

The program aims to remove unneeded prescription drugs from household medicine cabinets.

The drop boxes accept solid pharmaceuticals such as pills, capsules, patches, inhalers, and pet medications. They cannot accept syringes or liquids.

Flushing unused medicines into the sewer system or throwing them down a sink contaminates waterways and affects animals.

Silver Alert System

The state Attorney General established a "Silver Alert System" which provides a statewide system for the rapid dissemination of information regarding a missing person who is believed to be suffering from dementia or other cognitive impairment.

According to Silver Alert criteria, the person believed to be missing is believed to be suffering from dementia or other cognitive impairment regardless of age; a missing person's report has been submitted to the local law enforcement agency where the person went missing; the person believed to be missing may be in danger of death or serious injury and there is sufficient information that a Silver Alert would assist in locating the missing person.
