Currently, those distances are mandated by state law. The law requires a fifty foot “no parking” area from all stop signs and a 25 foot “no parking area” from all intersections. We Need Your Help! The Route 35 Roadway and Drainage Improvement Project (mile marker 4.0-9.0) is being included in a list of projects submitted by the New Jersey Department of Transportation to the Federal Government for funding under the Economic Stimulus Package. The Department of Transportation has been working on this project since 1996. The project will primarily consist of upgrading the existing drainage system to reduce the current degree of flooding that exists along the highways (Grand Central Avenue and Route 35 South) and Bay Boulevard as well. The project also includes the repaving of the highways, the installation of new curbs and sidewalks and traffic signalization improvements. WE NEED YOUR HELP NOW. Without receiving stimulus funding, this project will probably never get done. We need our residents and visitors to get involved in the process.
